Dragon and Lair Monster High Sculpture Doll and Base Gothic Fairy
For Adoption: Dragon and Lair
Doll: Monster High OG Draculaura
Medium: Doll, Resin, Apoxy, Polymer Clay, Acrylic Paints, and sealers
Artist: Laurie Leigh of Beautiful Faces Art
Size: 8L x 7W x 9H Inches+
Dragon is a Dragon Fairy and Lair is her pet baby dragon.
While I was browsing with my friend at Goodwill, I came across wings shaped like a bowl cast out of resin. I snatched them up quickly, knowing a Monster High would be the perfect fit. I also found a homecoming/prom dress that was perfect for the fabrics I needed.
Draculaura was found at a garage sale. I wanted to try something different, so I cut her in half and created a longer body using Apoxy. I then dremeled her joints and forced them into this sleeping position, sculpting her in place with Apoxy Magic Sculpt. She cannot move from the position.
I created clothing out of Aves Apoxie Clay and the fabric I had found. And made her horns as well.
She received a full reroot in bright orange-red saran. It was curled and styled.
I painted the wings and arranged Dragon to fit perfectly. But she needed a baby dragon, so I sculpted Lair out of polymer clay and painted him gold.
Dragon and Lair are not adhered to the base at all and can be moved in or out of there.
I wanted the base to lean forward to better display Dragon and Lair, so I sculpted one, hand embellished it, and painted the title on the back. I added non-slip to the bottom to protect both the art and your furniture.
I hope you enjoyed the pictures and how she was created and maybe you will have a space in your home to adopt her.
XOXO Laurie Leigh
